In the app, tap Feedback. It opens a conversation with the developer over the internet, not the radio, and the reply arrives in the same thread. Each message includes your app version and device details.
Or email support@axelstack.com. Use email when you want to send a screenshot, since the in-app thread takes text only.
Whichever you use, it helps to include:
- What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- For anything radio-related, the radio or TNC and how it is connected.
- In an email, your phone model, its Android or iOS version, and the app version shown on the About screen. The in-app thread sends these for you.
There is also a Discord server for questions in the open and news about the app.
Common questions
Where do I get it, and what does it cost?
APRS Connect is on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iPhone. It is free to install and use over APRS-IS. Connecting a radio, offline map downloads and the other features listed on the free and Pro page need APRS Connect Pro: $3.99/month or $29.99/year, after a 7-day free trial.
The status page says what works today and what each release carried.
Which languages does it come in?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish and Malay. The app follows the phone's language, or you can choose one under Settings → Language. The translations have not yet been checked by native speakers. If one reads wrong, please tell us.
Do I need an amateur radio licence?
Only to transmit. APRS runs on amateur radio frequencies, and transmitting on them requires a licence in nearly every country. Without one, you can use the app receive-only over APRS-IS.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes. The app keeps its data on the phone, so messages, packet history and cached map tiles can be read with no network. Radio channels do not need the internet at all.
What does the app collect?
The privacy page sets out what we collect, and what the APRS network itself makes public.
Which radios and TNCs work?
Any KISS TNC, over Bluetooth Classic (a Kenwood TH-D74 or TH-D75, a Mobilinkd), Bluetooth LE (a Mobilinkd TNC4 in LE mode, a B.B. Link), a USB serial cable, or TCP (Direwolf or another network TNC). With no TNC, the built-in audio modem connects the phone's audio to the radio and does the modulation itself. APRS-IS needs no radio.
On iPhone, the app connects to Bluetooth LE TNCs, KISS over TCP, APRS-IS and the audio modem, which keys the radio by VOX. Bluetooth Classic and USB serial TNCs are Android-only. Connect a radio lists each connection type and the hardware it needs.
