APRS Connect is released on Android and still being built. This page says what is genuinely working, what is still moving, and what hasn't started — so you know what you're installing rather than what we'd like it to be.

Working today

  • On Google Play. The Android app is published and installable — get it here.
  • Messaging. Threads per station, delivery state, automatic retry, archiving, and blocking.
  • Radio links. Bluetooth Classic and BLE KISS TNCs, and APRS-IS over TCP with a server-side filter.
  • Background reception. Packets keep arriving with the app in the background, behind a visible notification, with gaps in coverage marked in the log rather than hidden.
  • Map. Vector basemap, APRS symbols for stations, objects and beacons, and an offline tile cache you size yourself.
  • Packet log. Every frame kept, an inspector that decodes it, reception charts, and import of a capture file without replaying it.
  • Services. Guided screens for the common APRS services, with the raw command always visible.
  • Backup. Full export and import of the on-device database as JSON.

In progress

  • Downloadable offline map regions, beyond the cache that fills as you pan.
  • Wider coverage of the APRS message services, each one verified against the live bot before it ships.
  • A registered APRS device identifier, so packets from the app are attributable. Requested; using a generic experimental identifier until it's allocated.
  • General polish.

Not started

  • iOS builds. The code is kept iOS-clean, but nothing has been built or tested there, and there is no App Store submission.
  • The browser companion.
